i'm personally of the belief that the player reincarnated into xehanort as opposed to the whole "hosting them in your heart" thing ala sora and ven. why? think about how xehanort has removed his heart before, and how he split into a heartless and a nobody (using terra's body, but still). that's like, a huge jumble of hearts involved. when sora created roxas, he looked like ven because of ven's heart being in sora. xehanort on the other hand would've had his own heart, the player's heart, terra's heart, and eraqus' heart to deal with. all i'm saying is that, unless player's heart is stuck to xehanort's like glue but still separate, we would've seen some more shenanigans by this point

 

 

thats why everglow's translation say dissolve into a new heart which mean the player is a newborn heart and has been reborn as xehanort no fusion mentioned
