So I use the special on the first iLea, tap the first Terra, use the Sephy special, use the iLea special twice and I still end up with 2 left on the counter

So, if I'm counting correctly, using just Naminé's SN, you'll have the count at 4 by the time you reach the friend medal. This should leave room for three SNs still and you can still use the first Special of the friend medal. Instead of using the EA Special of the friend medal, you'd use SNs to trip the counter.

Naminé's SN after that on turn #2 should cancel out the count depletion of the renewals and other SNs.

So, you won't be able to use him on the first turn then since the count won't deplete.

You can use that Sephy instead.

Then, you can use the first Special on turn #1 and do something else like burst and SN to trip the counter.
