Edit: Looked it up and finally figured what I have to do.

Play the quests from the side icon on the main menu to progress the story.

The star battles are just to grind for EXP and materials.

Btw i have advice

Invest in the most expensive cards in the shop first

They are ridiculously powerful and make the game a much easier time
