Is it ever a good idea to play the KH series in chronological order?

it's not a bad idea, it's not recommended tho

you could cause then you'd follow the timeline in order which works for some people

but KH did the thing where it builds up knowledge as each game comes out like a stack of boxes

so if you go in release order, things will "make sense" as you play

I actually always used to play chronological until I started replaying them last year and then I realized why people don't like playing chronological

Yeah that and it's hard to go from a PS4 game (like 0.2) straight into a PS2 game (kh1)
