KH boyos

"KH"? Never heard of it.

But yes, KH1 plot good.

It's the best one in the series, it's not just "okey".

Maybe rivaled by Days'.

Just for curiosity's sake, what is your favorite KH story?

Ah, CoM has a good story, definitely

I guess it's up to different priorities, I was never too invested in Days' story because Xion didn't captivate me and she was one of the pillars that supports Days' narrative. So the whole narrative suffered because a lot of the story focus was dedicated to her.

Meanwhile I like every KH1 character, from the OGs to the FFs to even the Disney ones, all of them feel like part of the narrative to varying degrees of importance and all affect Sora in small ways. It doesn't have any fat to it; it's concise, well-paced, uses its characters well and, differently from certain other games, knows to be a satisfying narrative first and effective sequel-hook second.

I do like KH1, and I definitely think it has one of the best stories but I do like some of the things that came after it a bit more

Ahh well, when you put it like that

Well, this is all mostly subjective, as I said I was not much of a fan of Days' story because I was not invested in Xion, but if I were, my opinion would definitely be different.

So it's swings and roundabouts then

Who knew we could disagree and yet respect each others viewpoint

darkness

Another thing I appreciate about KH1 (and Days as well) is that it put emotional investment first and technical plotting and exposition second. Instead of saying "here's this threat, go fight it", like we're some kind of space janitors, it puts all that in the background and makes Sora's emotional struggles with missing his friends and being far from home front and center, and the heartless and league of villains plot thread is kept in the background as another reason for us to visit the different Disney worlds. But then, at the end of the game, all those plot points come together, with edgy teen Riku taking control of the heartless and being under Malificent's influence while gaining possession of Kairi's body along the way.

Yes, that's exactly it, they're all character driven

Even KH2
