do a whole world as a character and then switch over

they hand you like 30 of them and when you switch you can lower the rate at which the gauge goes down, so i think the original intention was to let players do just that
but also keep them on a time limit to imply "sleep"

I'm glad they give you some freedom there

which is why i was always confused when people say they would drop during a boss fight
I'd be like
"Did you never use those items and always keep your drop gauge up? not many surprise bosses in DDD"

just plop the command on, use them, and then switch the command back

that's a lot of health and dodging you'd need to perfectly do

Also, you don't get dream eaters either

So no dream eater buffs

let alone difficult it'd just be tiring to sit through all that

The secret portals could be doable but it's also a lot of health

I don't even do that. I just like to let drops happen naturally unless I'm on a boss. You get more usage out of the boosts that way.

the drop system is far from as annoying as people claimed it to be when the game originally came out

You tend to get more DP by dropping more often.

It's easily manageable

yeah but I still get a solid 200+ DP from doing a couple special portals
