I would be upset too. It seems like versus was a very special project to him. I cant say for sure what happened in its development, but at least he has an other good chance to make what he can into a reality.

original ff14 was bad thanks to his decisions then had to pull nomura's kh team that was working on versus 13 ans other teams leading to delays ans stopping productions

then ff13 got issues so nomura's team got pulled away from him

again

then other games has issues ans his team get repeatly pulled away from him and versus 13

when he finally got his team back he got kicked off the project and placed on ff7 and kh3

hence versus having bad history of being unworked on due to both ceos decisions
