There's nothing wrong inherently with the first premise of chi/UX - that of it being a look back into the lives of people around the keyblade war - in fact you can search up my 2016 posts and you can see I was a fan of UX back then. So it's not something that I hated just because it existed. The foretellers were an interesting concept, mysterious and unknown and most importantly, separate.

They were totally separate from the main Canon (even tho it was part of the main Canon, just too far away from it) and that gives it its own space to stand out and breathe, fans could enjoy it without it being bogged down by other KH things. And it was good! It was interesting seeing ava and luxu fight, and seeing the foretellers be kinda badass because they were so distant. Even in 2015 when Unchained X came out it was cool because overseas fans could experience the story and it occasionally had some new twists. Fast forward to 2017, and we see the new union leaders. Now that's all cool. But then we get firetrucking Ventus and Marluxia.

What the firetruck Nomura. This is not how to create intrigue. Now people are trying to fit things into canon that used to make sense. If you notice, Nomura does this alot. He's never sure if his concepts will be fine on their own so he has to add familiar faces, this worked when they were ff characters basically being OCs, but you can't use KH OCs and make them even more of OCs, they're already established characters in this universe.

Then in the same year we got back cover, which really ruined the foretellers, they became incompetent and weak minded, which makes sense from the pov of back cover but really ruined their whole shtick. This is where something like telling and not showing makes more sense, because if rather have the furrytellers be cold towards one another and say things like "our bonds have weakened" or something than see them become incompetent fools which isn't how they were portrayed in their "games"

Now UX is bogged down hugely by the main Canon rather than it being a cool mysterious hint to the future, now they're so closely linked and its cluttering up everything

I'm not saying it all has to be neat and nice, this is KH after all, but even by this series standards it was a huge detriment to the characters and the plot to just make them time travellers but good guys actually

Oh yeah he definitely made Vens background mysterious but I don't think he planned for it to be used like this

We'll see how it goes on from here, but from where I'm standing a lot of characters aren't in a great position, mostly old Org characters

I disagree on the Foretellers. Yeah they had a mystery, but a mystery can only last so long before it becomes completely unnecesarry. At some point they will need to show who they are, what they do and what's up with them. Back Cover did that. Yes they are incompetent fools but they are that because of the one above them and set things in motion for what's to come. He set up Aced to be the right hand man of Ira but also make it so he betrays him. He set Ira up as a leader but also to backstab the others. He set Invi to look at the others and note down what they do, but also to get her to spill everything to Ira. He set Gula up to gather info on the missing Lost Page, but also make him suspect all the others. He made Ava gather a bunch of people for the safety of the future, but also steal them from other unions.

I hope the next game is about Kairi and Yozora

I did watch back cover, I understand why that was done and I understand the motivations, the execution was incredibly weak though

I wonder if Yen Sid, Riku and the other gangs have realized that the Foretellers are back, because of the timeskip

And I disagree about the first point, yeah this mystery was started in 2013, but up until about 2017/8 nobody thought that these guys had anything to do with KH3, and that's the real kicker here

They could have kept that mystery until after KH3 and it would have been fine

There was so much to explore from 2fm to DDD, ux was totally and 100% unnecessary except for the epilogue

The Foretellers did only appear in the Epilogue. The rest of it was with the rest of UX

I'm still confused about the whole timeline thing.

It's a timeloop

Like just off the top of my head:
- what is Xemnas' connection to Aqua?
- How will Roxas' data be used?
- Is Namine going to be used to help return memories of Xion?
- will the tutorial of KH3 be sora, or young Eraqus, or kairi?
- is Rinoa going to make an appearance?
- all of the FF subplots
- if Kairi is in radiant garden will he recover her memories?

Y'know, there's a lot, not all of it has to be touched on but some of it would be nice.

Instead of having black box and UX hints that come up once every world

Remind wasn't a new timeline, he just went back in time and did stuff behind the scenes

Bloody sora, this is why he's the worst character

So basically while everything in the base game happened, Remind Sora was doing those stuff too

Lingering will would have taken him down and reclaimed his body

ah ok

Ngl that's how it should have been
