So far my favorite parts of re:mind are the playable characters, explorable Scala, the Guardians of Light vs Xehanort and the Story adding more to the original plot making it feel more complete.

"congradulations sora you understand hurt"

Nomura just say pain

which he does in KH3 when talking about aquas "hurt"

If I have to be honest, it's painfully aware that there are a few things that Nomura shines at writing, and the rest of his scripts seems to be just padding to get to the cool moments.

Things like Aquanort, the whole UX light of the past, the original keyblade graveyard, it was all really cool fanservice without substance

when he said not one more moment i was like nomura you firetrucking sly firetruck you were being cheeky bout having sora confess his love for kairi using that line that been uttered in anime and movies before while not flatout using the word love

Set pieces, I think, are his strengths.

Much like the English Football team.

And much like the English football team, he is constantly chasing the shadow of his former glories but never quite reaching there.

Although who knows, 7R looks to be grand although they showed basically the entire thing

I think nomura can still do cool shit, but i never thought he was a clever writer, he simply has some weird writing quirks

Oh yeah I mean, I have no doubt in his ability to wrote cool shit

It's all very stylistic and bombastic. It's the quiet moments I think he struggles with

he can be clever when he write stuff like that

but that hug, that was perfect

its the felt good moments hes never do well with

The moments in between the actions, he doesn't know what to do with them. He could use that time for character interactions, to flesh out sub plots, but a hell of alot of the time its padding

he did say he had a hard time writing romance and girls (even tho he wrote aqua just perfect and terra and ven as idiots in bbs)

kh2 had hands down the best ineractions in the franchise

And no, I don't think KH was always like this, KH has had good writing before imo

Oh I sooo agree but few people would agree with us

hey at least we have the manga/novel writer to flesh out those moments?

Praise Amano and Kanemaki

it has such a quiet ending its quite impressive, once you've beat that final boss, the story slows down and lets the ending sink in

?
?

Yeah I think it's great

"we're back, you're home GUITAR RIFF"

i did like the ending with final world

I dont think there's a single bad scene between FF characters in KH2. For that matter there's not a single bad FF scene in KH3 either

well the ending in shiyuba was a perfect ending compared to deep dive and bbs endings

FF is just usually pretty good in KH

What

How is Shibuya a perfect ending compared to BBS

It's the same one, Sora ends up in a place he shouldn't setting up what's to come for him

The damn secret ending of KH2 will never be beat in HOLY SHit wtf iS GOING ON
