they are pretty mindless, and they say in kh2 that heartless dont bunch up like they did in kh1 normally, its only when someones controlling them from the darkness

Well it's mostly because of the keyholes

like in almost every world sora and the gang go to in kh2, pete or someone else controls the heartless

But the problem with KH2 saying that about kh1 is the heartless in kh2

maleficent is the reason for the giant heartless swarm thing in hollow bastion

pete is the reason heartless show up so much in the first visits for every world but mulan which has shan yu control them

i can understand heartless showing up in corona due to mother gothel

because shes all evil and junk

It isn't really explored in the disney worlds and by the time he gets it they are like oh you had it all along.

sora is the reason there are enemies, sora is exploring to get a power he could get by doing literally anything.
