Square didn't stop Nomura firetrucking up Kh3s plot dude. Aka putting 90% of the story in the last three hours of the game

You really think KH3 was solely on Nomura’s shoulders? He obviously had to deal with working for horrible clients aka.. DISNEY AND PIXAR.. and to actually put out all the ridiculous changes they wanted made.. that he had to almost smoosh everything original into the ending.. I know how it feels to work for bad clients and I can 100% promise that Disney and Pixar are the kind of client that breaths down your neck 24/7 telling you to “make that logo bigger”

I have, Nomura had the events of the Keyblade Graveyard happen three seperate times across different timelines, he has time travelling characters out the wazoo, and Sephiroth in FF7 definitely seems to be a timetraveler as he knows a lot more than he should. Even the very first time we see him in Remake he puts his hand on Aeriths shoulder and tells Cloud he can't save anyone.

All story decisions in KH rest with Nomura and I'm sure they wanted to protect their properties, the Disney execs that is, but that's not an excuse to push almost all of the relevant plot into the last tenth of the game, that was on Nomura. The pacing in KH3 hurts it a lot

They did play that up a bit with her ability to know when people die way early.

It's definitely suspect that Sephiroth tells Cloud

he has seven seconds to change anything, and then we see Zack outside Midgar looking in pretty good shape, not collapsed in a heap like he is at the end of CC. I think the implication is that Zack may be alive now

 

 

I still think that's just before another fight where he does end up collapsed. At best Zack makes it to Midgar with cloud and then dies of his injuries while Cloud survives.
