They are mostly, comically evil in the way they act like I can't even imagine the Palmer boss fight in remake

I don't know if you would be to your style of liking but you should check out the ff7 Machina abridged

It's pretty entertaining although quality dips as it goes further

I tried watching it but I just couldn't. That was like a year ago though

Later on they started focusing on making more of the tales of kind of skits to tell the story

I'm pretty sure that's going to be different in the remake I wouldn't mind if they like do a single slap and then it turns into a boss fight

I mean it's not like he did it because he wanted to he was under sephiroth control or something but I think it's still going to be a controversial if they see it exactly the same

the thing is

a lot of the remake kind of supposes you have prior knowledge

like its enjoyable enough without it, but only someone with a good handle on the entire compilation will get the most out of it

i had a decent overview of the compilation and i've always enjoyed the side games way more than ff7

i love CC it just had a akward leveling system

The stuff you are missing out on will most likely be explained in the next games

If they don't, then i can get your issue but right now it's a story told in parts and the full one hasn't been told yet. So clearly there will be some stuff that goes over your head that only people who know of the previous game and compilations would know but it is something you will find out about later

Unless they screw it up completely but based on the first game I don't think they will

I’m still in Midgar in the original, but so far I feel like we’re getting a lot more out of the remake than the original.
Hopefully they do what otti mentioned in the next parts, tho. ?

I think I'm just really confused on what I should've expected

like at first, I thought this felt like a complete game when I beat it, but then I didn't. I've flipped back and forth constantly. No idea if this even feels like a full game to me anymore

i really should've waited for all the parts

i dont think you're alone either Orpheus, those knowing of FF7 or at least parts of it have to now wait for the rest of the parts to get the full picture
Since Midgar while important was only a tiny bit of the entirety that was FF7

So for those 100% brand new, for them im sure it's just "oh hey this is the start. that was pretty cool" but they have no idea what is in the world outside of midgar

a lot of us have those context clues from the later parts of FF7 to make more sense of Midgar and the events that happen with in
ALONG with CC and BC (for those at least who know of BC) to really look at this and go

I'm definitley more of the latter camp to be sure. Never felt this conflicted on a game before

remake just makes me wish I at least watched videos on the original's plot

you know it's really firetrucked when i legitimately enjoyed star ocean 5 more than this game

It depends on what rating the other parts have

Whether they'll keep the cloud possessed attacking Aerith scenes
