Cid isn't the only one that has had this issue. As much as I have enjoyed the remake series (whispers and timelines aside) a big issue is them undermining their own stuff at times.

They also turned Tifa into a gaslighting liar who doesn't face consequences for lying to Cloud but no one is ready dor that conversation yet.

Biggest offences in Rebirth were Dyne's death and how [i]immediately[/i] afterwards you started with a boss mech who slapped its own ass

Or how Nanaki found out about his dad is immediately interrupted by dark spirits of the underworld

we don tknow what they will do with Cid yet, he was introduced early out of necessity

This is true so there is a chance of his dickiness to still exist. But just what they showed off Revelations seems sanded down too. Lack of smoke, no cursing of any kind.

Which isn't a confirmation on how he will be, but it is a cause of concern
