From my perspective, this looks like a series of islands inhabited by those tiny not-korok things that has been invaded/taken over by the antagonistic robot forces, and they're the reason for the rails and stuff in the zones (as opposed to cyberspace)
Based on that assumption alone, it makes perfect sense that the color scheme would match the robots instead of the surrounding environment
