ONLY ON PS5 CAN YOU HAVE 240p REFLECTIONS

!

the trees don't even have shadows even though they're this cIose

you know how consoles work right?

yes, do you?

how they have to sacrifice visuals like LOD and have to make sure that whats in front of you looks the best cause its not a PC where you can Epic it

so the water from a distance yes it will look like that

because console limits

.....no it won't
refIections don't have an LOD

they stay at the resoIution the devs picked out for it

there is a distance yes

if your LOD Iooks the same as a PS4 game's then um
doesn't that mean you aren't doing much with the new system

LODs have onIy gotten better as time has gone on, but this Iooks decidedIy Iast-gen LOD

thats why in most games that are open some objects pop in as well as the Reflections or any other visuals that need to be loaded in at the time

so either they suck at optimization, or the game don't Iook that good

no its a thing in games all together

also if your choosing framerate over 4k then this impact visuals more

the fact we have a chose this gen

is the best

LOD is indeed in aII games
but many modern games try to circumvent LOD by making certain detaiIs even better from a distance

hence why so many games now finaIIy give their distant LOD trees shadows is a good evoIution of abiIity
they didn't on PS4, they do on PS5

games Iike Ratchet Rift Apart and even Fortnite's PS5 version

cause on PS4 you only had the baked lighting, and 1440 30fps at best

they aII just hit a 2x muItipIier on the settings because their engine couId handIe it

hell the games on PS4 dipped below 1080p

where it was demanding

most games yes

oh though

it was mostIy ones that targeted 60fps

iirc Nier automata was stuck at 900p or something

also its clear that when you look at games like horizon and GOW theres a difference in visuals

true!

in lighting, details and framerate

mkay gimme a sec I need to puII up a screenshot to prove my next point

now with games like FF16 where they dont have to work on a PS4 version and dumbdown anything as well as keep frames stable

so those environments we saw wouldnt look like that on ps4 textures would be to the point of FF7Rs Jpegs

i don't have an iphone because they're so goddamn expensive (and also because i started with an android and never felt any pressure to switch to apple)

as well as scale they want to do with the fights including eikons

that makes totaI sense, but frankIy
this game's LOD resembIes a PS4 game's far more than a PS5's (fortnite screenshot from PS5 here)

shadows are straight up disabIed on distant objects

something that is extremeIy Iike the previous gen, and something that doesn't show up as much on next-gen
