there are plenty of companions that only stay for a season but usually they don't set up a big mystery relating to them like they did for this one is why I'm a bit confused about it lmao

while it's uncommon for a "main" companion to only stay for a season, it's not unheard of and hardly seems like "big news" or anything like that
