honestly I firetrucking hope that Fantasian 2 is an action game

just out of spite towards the people that harassed Sakaguchi because he said that he likes FFXIV and FFXVI

It wouldn't be Square's game, it still isn't

Mistwalker owns it, Square is just the publisher

At least for this port, who knows for the future

From what I am seeing of people who played Fantasian, the writing is the weakest part by far

yes but that's expected. the FF games Sakaguchi worked on never had a really good story

Actually what's funny about that is, little by little over the years they've slowly revealed that Nomura back then influenced the story a lot more than folks knew

I think that's because he never wrote it, he should have gotten a creative credit like he does now

I didn't say bad. I said "never really had a good story". They are mid like all ps1 era games 😌

FFIX hits a personal note for me though because I like the charm

and FF1-5 didn't really have a story. For FFVI I have to replay because I haven't played it in a while

since I finished Shadowbringers I have never been the same person again when it comes to FF stories

because this game set the bar so high

that's probably how ps1 era FF stans feel about modern FF. when something's bar was so high everything that can't reach it seems to be bad

the biggest ratio I probably have ever gotten was when I said that raids in vanilla World of Warcraft were firetrucking garbage just to see the WoW community agreeing 7 months later with this take when the first raid got cleared in 30-60 minutes

and that raiding in vanilla WoW has always been a firetrucking lie
