some people are mad that this got changed btw

the truth is that from software UI's always sucked and that the criticism is valid. The issue was that game devs who make as garbage UI's whined about it on Twitter

so no one took it seriously

but tbf this shit isn't even needed

you don't need to see new items

because you only use the inventory until you get your armor + weapon for your build and after that you mostly ignore it

that's stupid

it's kinda sad how Soulsborne players min maxed the shit out of this game btw

the popular builds all have guides for the perfect route and instead of exploring you go for your Best in Slot armor first

which basically turns the game into a linear game

the game is to blame for this too

the reward system is garbage

a lot of the loot you can find is useless because you are locked into your build and the game doesn't allow respec until the 2nd legacy dungeon

you don't realize this in older games because they aren't open world and a playthrough takes substantially less time

using the old reward system for elden ring was a mistake

that's also why I prefer bloodborne over elden ring. I think Elden Ring is fantastic but this game is too big for the old formular
