after all the hype i heard about it

Story was confusing ? Kinda felt straight forward for me tbh

It was all very whimsy and philosophical and I get what it was going on but i wasn't really satisfied

Replicant here though has a more straight forward story

as someone who never played any other Nier games I thought the story was pretty straight forward

Replicant is my second Nier game

i tried replicant and the gameplay was similar enough that i didn't even want to bother continuing

I know a bit about Drakengaard and all that but that's about it

I fully get you, the gameplay isn't my favorite here

this is what i meant by confusing. you can understand what's going on but it isn't enjoyable imo

and you definitely feel like you're thrown into the middle of a story rather than a beginning, at least from what i remember

True mainly cuz the main exposition starts at the final route

They don’t really explain how we got there up until the near end

I still have no idea how this connects to Automata

Shades aren't a thing in Automata and the bots here are so basic

very very loosely from what i know lol

Ah so the same thing with Drakengaard to this

just a same universe type of connection

Yeah well it isn’t connected that much

my favorite part of nier is when a boss throws the square enix building at you

in ffxiv

Its just that replicant and automata take place on earth whilst the

“program” for replicants iirc failed and that led to the extinction of the human race

 

automata was definitely a solid experience, but i was NOT vibing with the main gameplay at all(the little changed up battles and bullethell segments were sick as hell though) and story is one of my biggest things about games and i didn't particularly enjoy it so my experience was pretty soured. even after all that though, there is nothing that will stop me from listening to this on repeat for 10 hours 💀

The thing with replicant is that the story is kinda uhh
