I just find it extremely bizarre how we haven't seen a single mention of him in the show

just finished the episode myself, was incredible

Cristin Milioti deserves all the awards coming her way

i think it's because the show focuses on a part of the city that's not where batman stories typically take place (if i'm remembering correctly from interviews and post-episode behind the scenes segments), so if there's any mention of him it'd be as a quick mention and nothing more. like, he's seen as the hero of richer parts, not this part. that's my best guess, anyway

That could be a good exaplantion but that's not really what the movie showed

I watched the movie again on halloween because why not. The first 10 minutes is a long ass monologue by Batman about how he needs criminals to fear him and he wants them to fear the shadows as he can't be everywhere. And they show it exactly as that, people are looking into the shadows and being afraid.

Batman is this mythical figure that people are afraid of in the shadows, he's the boogie man of Gotham

And the movie does end with Batman wanting to be a hopeful person to the city, but that's not something the criminals know about. What they do know is that the mythical Batman that they have been afraid of is real.

The show takes place a week after that, so it's just so weird we haven't seen a single criminal talking or mentioning about it

Whether it's in a newspaper, in the background or anything

We have seen more from Riddler than we have of Batman

I will just chalk it up to Batman being out of comission after everything that happened in the movie
