Wouldn't be the worst idea to have the handheld be a generation behind. Steamdeck is more or less like that and if the switch 2 rumors are true it's doing exactly that too but on the ps4 level.

I can't really imagine Sony going to the PSP/Vita days of having the handheld have exclusive games, it feels like they will want a better transition between them
