because in KH it didn't assassinate a mostly decent plot at least

Sorry but the basics for any time travel story is that the time travel makes sense

KH barely does

DQ is concise and simple

time travel in DQ doesn't make sense either

The mechanics are told in the story. You go to the place, do the thing it says to do and you travel back.

KH on the other hand relies on a mechanic that is barely explained

KH: There's an ability that gives you time travel and we try to explain you to a certain degree how it works

DQ: there's a time travel tower and time travel orb but we don't explain you why they even exist and how they got there.

And that still makes more sense than the power of waking ever did

They are both used for the same reason but at least one finished it's actual plot and gives you something extra to do

KH uses it as a crux

And a last minute one at that

I am not even a big DQ11 fan, but man I can't agree with that take

It's so bad that the party won't die because of their actions because at this point they absolutely firetrucking deserved it
