I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

It'll just make me mad

Better than Nojima tho right?

Know what maybe no one should do interviews 😭

I mean, they have been doing that since the game was revealed

One of the first things to come out was them being ex ubisoft devs

I can promise you that Sandfall is getting firetrucked the next time they release another game because if the game isn't better than 33 people will make fun of them that they made a better game with way less experience

same for larian

they are dangerously close in terms of falling into the same issue all these corporations have

Giving CD Project Red vibes

I do think you are being a bit too negative about the devs though

I mean they already got exposed for lying about the "30 developer" thing

33 wasn't made by 30 people

Gotta link for that, out of curiosity?

tbf the online discourse contributed a lot to spreading this narrative

so it's not entirely their fault

But slightly on them to not reel it in

Though it shouldn't take away from the pristine quality of the game

I mean it's completely normal to outsource work

The main bulk was still on them

still a lie to then say this

like I am super happy that this game is so successful

Not really, people just take the 30 people thing too literally

and they absolutely deserve the success

nah they absolutely supported this narrative

because it's good for their PR

thing is they don't need to lie about this shit

like why doing that

they don't need to quadruple down on this underdog narrative

I am quite sure that if someone digs deeper the "almost no experience" and "bored" thing was a lie too

because that didn't came up until now

I think you are overthinking this waaaay too much

For one thing coming up with an idea while being bored is like the most normal thing

Almost no experience can be from anything. Making codes, being a leader, making a brand new studio etc.

you don't make a game like this just out of boredom lol

they are just saying this for looking cool

That's not what they said

Coming up with an idea and making it are completely different

They spent 5 years on this, of course it wasn't out of boredom, like come on dude

I do agree some of the stuff going around is too much but that's more on the press than the studio for now

I really hope this won't bite their ass in the future

it's super worrying

it sets people's expectations unbelievably high. It's already stupid that people expect them to make a sequel.

most indie devs just do something entirely different. Games like Hades are the only exception and the 2nd game isn't apparently as good as the first game

I don't know where you heard that, it's much better

what I mean is I want to see a 3D platformer from Sandfall in the style of Mario Odyssey 😌

just to flex that they imporved their platforming

laughsinnomura

Also an indie studio making a sequel is normal

Hollow Knight, Hotline Miami, Shovel Knight

Also I seriously find it hard to call Sandfall indie
