Probably wanted to maximise profits and not spook the shareholders etc

I thought we would get atleast one new concrete announcement to come with the report tho, still not much to wait for right now

MMO Games (e.g., Final Fantasy XIV) showed strong growth, with net sales up 17.4% to ¥55.5 billion and operating income up by 13.5%.

Financial Health:

Assets: Square Enix's cash reserves increased by ¥21.8 billion, bringing total cash and deposits to ¥247.7 billion by March 31, 2025.

Liabilities: Reduced significantly by ¥14.0 billion, dropping to ¥79.7 billion, contributing to the growth in shareholders' equity.

Shareholders’ Equity: Rose by ¥18.5 billion, bringing the total to ¥343.7 billion.

Despite a decline in overall net sales, Square Enix demonstrated strong operating income growth, especially in its Digital Entertainment and Amusement segments. The company’s profitability improved significantly, reflecting strategic shifts and better performance in key games. Additionally, with a strong balance sheet and improved equity, Square Enix is well-positioned for continued growth, particularly with its expanding digital and entertainment offerings.

Despite lower overall sales, operating income increased by ~25% and net profit rose by ~64%. This means the company is managing costs well and improving margins.

Operating income margin improved from 9.1% to 12.5%, indicating more efficient operations.

Total net sales fell ~9% year-over-year, mainly due to underperformance in mobile and browser games, which saw a significant drop in both sales and profits.

Yeahhh…. But he one shot me plus he was rude so

Wouldnt you be rude if someone stole from you

Dawntrail had the highest revenue at ¥55.5B — a new peak for the MMO segment.

So in terms of sales, Dawntrail outperformed both Shadowbringers and Endwalker.

That's crazy hole firetruck

Microsoft going to layoff 6000 people worldwide

so I looked more into it and what the SE document basically shows is that Square Enix is a lot better in terms of cost control now

I wonder if they count how much they spend on unreleased game or not, because this year was mostly remaster rerelease so its easy to have high operating income

they do have to count that

it's illegal to not do that lmao

So maybe that new direction is a good one

public companies are according to laws legally required to disclose information like this. it's to protect investors
