because it makes no sense, you know they need the views as much as the content creators
almost every time a company change their ToS is because of some legal thing that force them to
they won't censor mario jumping insistently on a goomba for fun
Yeah but to Trinity's point, there's a clearly observable pattern of things starting out as one thing, and it snowballs to eventually encompass other stuff. I wont name any examples cause they're overtly political, and I have a feeling we wouldn't agree on them anyway- BUT
Can you really dismiss the idea so casually when this has been done before?
Look what they tried to do with stuff like SOAPA ages ago. Its not about regulating this or that or protecting x y or z, its about control.
i dont know what soapa is, here i just don't see anything weird or how it would evolve into something controversial
This is also not going to be regulated by humans, it's gonna get punted into an algorithm which has no understanding of nuance

These are from the Wikipedia page solely about France specifically and their problems with censorship
See how these things can be spun in the direction of "national interest" and such?
first example is political, second one is normal to me so idk
i understand what you guys say, i just don't think that's one of those case, unlike when they removed the dislike button for example
here they censored everyone literally
perhaps I'm still missing something but, we'll see I guess
Maybe I'm just too strung out by my the US's malarkey right now lol
I think that we are seeing a nasty trend with both age-verification and censorship/control with many online areas, especially with political and corporate groups. It has been this way for a few months.
Honestly, I would keep a good sense of suspicion because we're still stuck with the malarkey happening in the US and probably in a lot of other countries.
well you know, not to sound like a conspiracy theorist whom the genesis of his political and social opinons came as a direct result from playing Metal Gear as a kid, BUT
imo all this ID stuff is just a way to keep track of us on their system. I dont mean that in a pseduo-science "they put microchips in the vaccines" way, but its to keep track of us.
Plus it serves a dual purpose; since many a corporation have explicit ties to our and other governments due to financial investments and interests, it serves better to target us with products and superfluous junk, while simultaneously keeping a watch over what we say and do.
All in the name of "national security of course." Buuuut thats just a theoryyyyyy
