SE is a really weird company sometimes. They released Shb/Endwalker, FFXV, KH3 and DQ11 all within like what. 5 years and for some reason we needed FF7. just lmao

The problem consistently comes down to Square has a hard time maintaining older fans outside of their select 1-3 games, and acquiring new ones. KH gets a lot of new fans consistently but few of them play FF. The ones that do mostly do 7 through 10, and even then, 7, in a franchise full of sub franchises, is completely separate from the others to the point of its own like solar system.

Yes young people still play FF, but I would argue that more young fans are gonna play, like, and stick around for KH than FF

Not that FF is for "hard core gamers" but its a mildly deeper layer

SEs only issue is that they constantly fuck up their schedule. we don't get frequent releases. KH4 and DQ12 should already be out but they just aren't

If only square could stop making stupid mobile games for things that don't need it
