What if Xion's name means something else?

Posted

Well I've been thinking. Nomura has already confirmed that Xion's name means No.1 as in Number 1. Probably first true Sora copy? Not totally sure. But what if it also means another thing? Observe.

Xion.

Take away the X.

Ion.

Mix it up.

Noi

Add a . and turn the i to a 1.

We have now have what Nomura said. No.1

But what if it means No 1 as in No one, as in No one remembers her?

Discuss.

I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence. Good find though~

Xion is codenamed No. i as she is the first in the Replica Program.

i is the imaginary number, and as Xion is a replica, and thus less real than the Org. themselves, it emphasises her non-existence.

Nice idea but I think you're just over thinking her name, if it had another meaning wouldn't Nomura had said something?

It's confirmed that Xion's name means No.1

"A name defines an object. Describes the span of it. Gives it purpose. We embarked upon the Replica Program to ensure our new power stays ours. Now, our shadow puppet, "No. i," lives. It needs a name. Something to define it. To give the hollow vessel purpose."

fool. It says right there it's No.i, not No.1

I too thought it was No.i I don't think it means that no one remembers her though that's a good theory.

LOL. That fool thing is starting to get funny now, especially when someone makes a mistake.

Yeah, its No.i.

Hey that's a thought, I wouldn't be surprised if it were true, considering all the name things Nomura has done.

The soul purpose as to why her name is Xion is because it could mean many things and because of a coin toss.

fool. The Roman numeral looks like a capital I, but it isn't. It's a different symbol. And i does not look like I anyway.

Xion's name means tide.

And that is an interesting thing pointed out, but I doubt that is what Nomura wanted to imply.

As some people have stated on this thread, i means imaginary number. No.i probably was just her replica name and nothing more. Or it could be implying that fact that Xion wasn't technically a member of the Org, since she wasn't a Nobody. So she got a fake number.

Perhaps its like the letter used to represent an imaginary # in math, i. That could make sense, but then I'd be mad because math shouldn't be in Kingdom Hearts.

well i know that but if nomura confirmed it xD and also i guess its lowercase because if not it would look like this "XIon" which would look wierd (just cause not capitalized in the name doesnt mean it shouldnt be. Ex- Siax "Isa", Axel "Lea")

fool. ex stands for extra. eg stands for example. I wonder how they explained it to the japanese having a different language and letters.

o ya xD well still

That's precisely what it is. SK3 said as much in the post that you quoted.
