So I played FF7 by the time I got to 2 and CoM and dead ass I thought that's who Vexen was supposed to be lmao

I thought he was supposed to be Hojo and Axel Reno; shit Vexen even sounds a little like Hojo- in both languages

Heck Reno was voiced by Quinton Flynn in Advent children. And he has that flaming red hair.

And yeah Vexen was pretty much E-rated Hojo

Reno and Axel shared the same JP VA iirc

Just looked it up, and yep, it’s Keiji Fujiwara for both of them.

Also holy crap, the Japanese voice for Vexen and Hojo (in remake/rebirth) is Shigeru Chiba
