the KH universe characters manifested darkness in quadratum because they brought the heartless there through mental energy and fantasy because they believe that darkness exists

it also explains why the true darknesses in KH can't be erased

as long as you believe that darkness exists it will always be there

Nomura is also pretty much explaining all the power of friendship bullshit in previous games with this

Xehanort's plan which he likely got from the MoM is also another evidence for this

MoM's first idea was probably "what if I just kill all people."

it's actually fucking funny even thinking about this. Imagine Kingdom Hearts in KH1 actually was darkness until Sora appeared and just wished for it to be light

Sora is the hope that lights the darkness the chance to make EVERYONE HAPPY!

Some posts about KH4 and the trailer from PJ, primarily that maybe in Quadratum these arent the original selfs of the Wielders, but data/illusions/whatever instead (which would make the matter of how time works there not an issue, which would needed to be adressed), and that its not sure that Quadratum is a afterworld for all the characters and Keyblade wielders, because the wielders shown in the trailer all disappeared under extraordinary circumstances and some upperclassmen in Dark Road were shown to be in the Final World not in Quadratum:
