... oh no...

Ocean is one of those "anti AAA games" guys ain't he 😭

no i'm one of those "stop making games more expensive" guys. and that's all graphics can do

That's like telling companies to stop making phones so expensive

.....probably a terrible example but still

Not terrible but, at the very, very, V E R Y least, game development can (legitimately at times too) claim its in the name of innovation.

Phone companies are like "oh yeah we gave you an extra 50 megabytes, show yellow a microfraction better and uhhhh here's a voice integration for PornHub now isn't that cool?"

My point being that Phone companies can't even pretend to claim its for nothing but pure hearding of the sheep; game devs have an alibi lol

Yeah very very true

bro read the release notes theres plenty of non graphics stuff there

the ai stuff man

the sound tools

and at the end of the day whether or not the game is fun is on the developer

not the engine

if you hate ue5 lighting and rendering then the developer can always choose to not use it

Ocean does, as a fair man, have a solid point; UE makes incredible environments, but it's inconsistent on Character models, and getting them to work consistently, and avoid that uncanny Valley.

That's not even gettig into previous versions issues with optimization lol

UE5 seem to follow the PS5 philosophy of "hey uh let's like just firetruckin do the last one but better man", so, I think this version will still be good.

Nah UE5 knows what’s up with optimization

The QoL updates are also very nice, as a game dev major working in UE5 right now lol

Eyyy my man

…you use your own character models?

Wdym

No I mean like, uh, ya know, making or rendering through them?

Idk man I just play the games lol I leave all the tech malarkey to DaZ

You don’t make models in UE 😭

Point is character modles rendered in UE leave something to be desired.

Like them static ass tree ass non-cgi/important cutscene models in KH3 lol

Yeah well you don't make your Mom either hah lmao + got em

UE is a game engine not modeling software bro 😭

It’s like saying your phone is a not good toaster

You can certainly try to make your phone a toaster by playing cod mobile lol

You don't make models per say but the rendering does get a bit wonky some times I will agree

Idk man sometimes when I run a game my phone may as well be a toaster.

It’s okay at warming the bread but it gives it zero crisp

doesn't work like that

games with good graphics can still be cheap

have you seen the tech demo of ue5 for the ps5 from epic? thats something you'd want to see in a kh game like kh4 it would help with the kh shader that nomura and his team made Edit: imagine this with unreal engine 5.3 but better improved upon this demo. we havent got games pushing this close yet so kh4 with UE5 or UE5.3 would look like this

sasuke?????

I think it couId 100% be done
KH4 at the moment Iooks Iike how the "THIS IS THE POWER OF UNREAL ENGINE 4" Iooked
