basically, now that i've got some games recently, i might start doing some PC playthroughs (when i get my PC sorted out).

i actually need to use one for schoolwork.

i will not use hypercam or camstudio due to the awful framerate it records in.

i love fraps, with great framerate and quality, but it has a stupid 30 sec recording limit, which isn't going to help me record 10 minutes of footage.

i haven't tried Jing yet, i will try it out soon.

 

so my question is:

a) is there any way to avoid the 30 sec limit on fraps

b) is there any other video recorder as good as fraps?

Fraps, to use it all you need to do is press the appropriate recording hot key.

I have Hypercam, but it lags a lot and really isn't worth it.

Don't use Hypercam there is a free version but it has a watermark. Plus the fact it's low quality.

 

With Camtstudio have you tried changing stuff in it?

When you save it, at the end of the video, have .avi or .wmv, or .mp4. Should work.

oh, i didn't know you could change the file it comes out as, since for some reason i can't open .avi files. ty

My eyes exploded when I first used camstudio because the screen was flashing with red and green lights so I had to restart my com OTL;;
