I guess the people that don't believe there was/is a Jesus don't have to.. yeah you know? So they're mostly the people that go on about getting presents and what not. /:

I kind of agree with what you say, some people have lost sight of what Christmas is really about...and sometimes that has happened to me, but I'm trying to be more appreciative of what it all means now...Some children can't understand it though because they are young and excited for presents but as they get older hopefully they will realize it (that's how I was).

That's why my family makes a big deal out of Christmas. We go to church to get our baby Jesus blessed (like the doll) and we have a posada, even if it's not the traditional 9 days, but one night is good enough. My grandma always has this manger set up so we can lay down our baby Jesus and ect. Most of our Christmas is centered around the birth of Christ but at 11 we start with the gifts.

I know what's Christmas is about and I suppose most of my family does too, even the little ones. Christmas is about a lot of things, not just gifts and not just the birth of Jesus. It's about that and being with family and your family traditions and giving.

A lot of times, people don't believe in Jesus but they still celebrate Christmas as a holiday of giving and spending time with family. As long as they have something other than presents on the mind is good right?

I honestly think that most people do get the meaning of Christmas, but everyone's meaning is different you know?

/end essay lol

true i agree with you. but wat my family do is that we go to church at six to get are holy communion. Plus we sing with the candle on fire(burned myself lol) After church we get prepared for a x-mas party. (so i hide in my room to play x-box cuz everyone busy. The party starts when my mom comes. And we open our gifts at 12:00. So yeah i agree with u big time.

Love you all have a great x-mas!!!!!!!!!!

P.S i got Final Fantasy XII for the x-box

The reason why some people say that is not because they're selfish, but it's because they are not Christains. I'm not Christain, but I don't think that receiving gifts is everything about Christmas.

I know this'll sound condescending but what you said is a little rich. Seeming you understand its the celebration of Jesus' birth and you abhor that people care for the superficial side of things not respecting the reason of Christmas. Yet you oxymoranically refere to Christmas as x-mas/cross-mas. I mean I get you must see the "x" as "Christ" but thats not how I see it, calling it x-mas to me is more of a secular thing. So bottom line you seem confused in what you mean

whatt????

Basically i said you were acting like the hypocrites you defamed, in that you said people should celebrate Christmas for the Christians sake and honour Christians. Yet like the hypocrites, you dishonoured Christians in your way by calling it x-mas, I understand most devout Christians dont really like "x-mas" I mean unless of course "x" is your lord and saviour?

He is trying to tell you that you're as bad as the people you say that are bad, because you called Christmas(Christ on the beginning of the word) x-mas.

Yeah my family is very religous so we go to church often, We enjoy christmas a fair bit, since we like going to the mass as a family, since my mom plays the organ for another church.

Good point but I don't think he meant to. And all holidays are the same to me-being alone in the dark just getting a few gifts every now and then. I actually only consider HALLOWEEN as a holiday because that's the only holiday that accepts outcasts for a change like me.

Well most of my familiy are young (2-8 years old) and they just care about presents. I know what the meaning of Christmas is but everyone thinks that so I just go along with them.

Calm down K3YBL4D3 KHIGHT.

Hey guys, i have a question for you? Why do we celebrate Christmas? Its because its the birth of Jesus right?

Wrong.

According to the bible, Jesus' birth is sometime in March (i think). I kid you not.

This man speaks truth.

I believe the reason that it falls in December is because of the Roman Calendar being altered a few times but don't quote me on that.

I have reason to believe there was a reason why Catholics picked December I just cant remember for the life of me

The X in Xmas isn't a sacrireligious thing. It stands for the Latin letter Xi which is pronounced Chi, making it just a shortening for Christ. Something like that.

I also read that. It don't believe they mentioned March, but the season of Spring instead.

Luke 2:8 read

Lol ikr. In eastern, they aways repeat this commercial with a super power rabbit that has x ray vision see the little toys in the chocolate eggs and he's like "LITTLE toys? what a joke..." and shows the little kids his chocolate eggs with big toys inside. it kinda makes me laugh tough.

@ Zero I actually dont care about the Book of Lies (bible) but most Christians dont speak latin or understand meanings lik that let alone pick up the Book of Lies so they just assume the x thing is disrespect. I mean I really doubt KeyKnight knows latin /:
