Square Enix is overly insulting towards their playerbase by not making baseline hardmodes. They basically tell me that I am too dumb to beat it during my first playthrough. It's very insulting

Honestly, I'm with Limen here. Skill level is subjective, so having every difficulty available out-of-the-box makes more sense. It shouldn't be a substitution for actual post-game content unless this extra difficulty drastically changes how the game is played (i.e. Master Quest).

The way I see it, whether a player is capable of taking on hard mode or not should be a decision they make for themselves.

it's just absolutely mindblowing to me that they added these accessoires and still made more than one difficulty mode

it feels in some way unnecessary

well its named story mode

people who just want that will play it

And see, that makes perfect sense to me. If story is all you care about, then by all means, take advantage of the easy mode that lets you blast straight through.
