FF7R has the advantage that it doesn't have critical hit related stuff like Xenoblade does because crit stats can go so damn fast out of hand due to the scaling

the only really busted stuff in remake is synergy materia and tifa's true strike during stagger

Going by the demo True Strike is gone

it's weird that none of the reviewers talked about blue magic. it's either not in the game or they didn't use it that much because blue magic was so busted in og ff7
