When there's these western movie games they'll always beat Japan unless it's souls

Japan cooked these last 2 months but that's not enough for Geoff to care unless it's Kojima or souls

I don't know what this patch changed but if you turn the game on easy mode then the minigame becomes easier too. It's how I beat the last FC match.

and rn using the things they built up with XIII, XV, 7R and XVI seems the way to go

make FF17 a game that has a party combat system, improved exploration of rebirth, content variety of rebirth, dialogue writing of XVI, voice acting of XVI and we are feasting

I think the issue is the series hasn't been restricted by arbitrary rules and why every title after the other is losing something

Since 10 the games have gone and done completely different stuff and trying to constantly reinvent itself despite it not needing a full overhaul

oh yeah I mean with arbitrary rules not something that is related to the foundation of the games.

I mean more something like that every game has to be a specific setting

From 10 with the new turn based system to 11 being an MMO to 12 being full of automated setups to 13 doing a wholly different gameplay where you can't even control your party members to 15 going action and 16 straight up not having any party members

Right now what it needs to do is pick one of these and build upon it

since 7R and XVI it feels to me like that they know the direction they want to go.

except for the party system and parts of the combat system Remake and XVI had a similar structure and now Rebirth feels like an improvement from what they have learned during the development of both of these games

7R and XVI felt to me like "hey make this game that has a combat system based around stagger, add some sidequest hubs and make most of it linear"

and now they went into the content and open world stuff

they feel both like alpha games for me compared to Rebirth

for me it looks like the company knows exactly what they want to do with the games

in the future

I expect XVII to be like Rebirth

especially now with the positive reception

they will continue the games in rebirth style with different settings and improvements and we will get more XIV expansions and another mainline MMO

MMO will not happen in the next 12 years though

developing a proper MMORPG takes 10 years at least

Will they be able to have FF's with a story the size of 16 with a world full of content like Rebirth?

Cause Rebirth had the advantage of (however minimally) building off remake. True even then 16 was done in 4 years? Both were actually but still

Who says you need that large of stories and worlds

XII did plenty fine for it's time and scale

If anything you could pull back on XVI a bit and still have an amazing world and product
