Well I'll see in merciless mode after my first run

I think this game gives as much as you put into it tbh- cause there's still some hard shit in the game, I find I'm having to switch up archetype comps a lot

I don't feel like I am hitting crazy walls in this game but I definitely have to come up with strategies

if a turn-based doesn't force me to engage in multiple strategic ways I usually do not like it

I feel like the game stands on its own plenty

I'm still not a fan of gimmick bosses that need adds to be "hard"

I think the "it's just persona" peeps are not wrong but not right either, there's things about it very different

e.g in p5r you can just kill everything by mindlessly exploiting weaknesses. in metaphor I have to think about my position, weaknesses, press turn icons, jobs and debuffs

Lol I don't even do the position thing tbh it's a neat idea but I didn't notice anything different except oh my melee attacks are weaker

Yeah you can dodge some attacks but I just raise agility up

I do have one complaint about Metaphor right now and it's dungeon design

Or more so their looks

I thought at least like a big map in certain areas but they just give you the size of your backyard in fields

Dungeons are so straight to the point, one leads to a chest another the main way

No traps or different routes that could lead to each other

I wish metaphor would have more classic rpg style dungeons

give us secret rooms

and better loot
