well as all of you dont know i am playing trouhg aquas story (on proud mode ) an in the cutscene before the second vanitas fight vanitas say:just like i have outgrown my nee for you.

and then aqua says :you freak

and then battle

 

so what do you think

Since Vanitas is just the 'dark half' of Ven's heart, I think he doesn't have the ability to fall in love. He was probably just mocking or teasing Aqua or whatever.

by what Vanitas is saying, I'm guessing that he thinks Ventus is now strong enough and doesnt need Aqua as the backup anymore
