This is a idea I had a little while ago and don't think it is true, but would like some other people's opinions.

At the beginning of KH1, Sora is spoken to by someone or something. Till BBS, I had thought that it was the Keyblade speaking to Sora. In BBS, Ven has a scene at the beginning of the game were Sora's heart is talking to Ven in the same way as the voice in KH. The idea I had was that Ven is the one talking to Sora in th KH opening.

Now, this idea has holes. The biggest in my opinion is the questions asked by the voice. Asking what was important to Sora.

Anyway, I wanted to hear some thoughts on this idea. Like I said, I don't really think it works, but I wanted to hear what other people think about this idea as a possibility.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's Ven's heart talking to Sora. Same with Roxas in KH2, I think that's also Ven. Although, it could have originally been meant to be the Keyblade, before Nomura came up with the idea of Ven.

Where and when was that confirmed? Mickey didn't know about Sora until he got the Keyblade and went to Traverse Town.

you want me to dig up an old interview about kh1 forget it but if you dont beleive you can ask anyone else and he will tell you the same

I believe that it is true, after all, in the scenes with both Sora and Roxas, there is that voice, Sora had Ventus' heart when he went through the awakening platforms, and while Roxas was in existence, he had Ventus' heart as well, and there was a voice talking to him during his experience in the Awakening platforms, considering that Mickey had never met Roxas, and Mickey never knew of Sora while Sora 'Dived into his own heart', it's pretty safe to say that it wasn't mickey, I'm putting my vote on Ventus.

Besides it being confirmed in an interview to be mickey, there are enough facts supporting it by itself:

You may not know this but due to contractal reasons, Mickey could only be used in one seen of the whole game and I am sure we all know which one that is now. This, however did not restrict them to implications, which would lead to a rather enigmatic persona of mickey in kh1.

 

The Letter with Mickey's Emblem

 

In the prolouge to kh1, SGD walk along a path and suddenly see pluto holding a letter with mickey's emblem. Shortly after its contents are revealed: "Remember, you are the one who will open the door to the light." Not only does this show Mickey's specific way of evoking that message and his knowledge of that specifically, but it also ties together every other unnamed ennigmatic phrases that appear in such a way including Riku's conversation with mickey which Leads me to my next point.

 

A Heart by Heart Conversation

 

Following Riku's heart being kicked out of his body, he has a conversation with Riku in the dark realm not by being next to eachother, but by their hearts being connected. In it, Mickey says that he was trying to reach riku for a long time, and was finally able to reach him now he was all by himself. Mickey had the ability to talk to others like this. Presumably, Mickey was trying to get hold of the other wielder who would help seal the dtd, but because of Riku's influence from dark forces (coded reveals he might have had contact with ansem sod for a longer time that we might have thought), Mickey ended up coming in contact to the person who would wield the keyblade, Sora.

 

Roxas' awakening

 

Assuming that my proof of it being mickey above is wrong, I am not sure I could prove that this was mickey. And so I must say it does not have to be the same person all the time: assuming it was ventus in kh1, we have mickey in coded. btw did anyone else notice that whenever "that door" appears we hear "the voice".

Nomura did confirm that Mickey was the one talking to Sora. It was before BBS came out. It should have been Ven, it's a fail on Nomura's part for not thinking about BBS before.

Sorry for being a little skepical when someone mentioned an interview. Sometimes it seems people just say that it was in an interview just so people will believe them, which is why I asked for it to be posted. I had never heard of said interview, as I didn't start browsing KH forums until KH2 came out.

It's cool lol, I started finding out these stuff after KH2 FM. So I had to find all the interviews from KH2 all the way back to KH1.

tutti frutti. Honestly, once I beat KH1 the first time, I merely assumed that the voice was Mickey. More so since he kind of seemed like he knew a good bit about the Keyblade at the end of the game with his own Keyblade. If I remember right, at the beginning and the end while speaking to Sora directly, Mickey did say that Sora will open the door to light.

Second of all, the interview that has been quoted saying that it was Mickey talking has been pointed to several times. I understand the reluctance to search it out, so I shall endeavor to locate it. I can't promise any success at this time. Any additional information and/or leads as to were to find it will be appreciated. Till then, please continue the discussion, if you wish.

It's just kinda odd that Mickey would be talking to Sora in his heart. I mean, I know in Re:coded Mickey is the one who talks to Data Sora, but he's talking from a computer.

All I know is that it was before BBS was released. That's all I remember. I can't find half the interviews I want to find if I need to go back to read it. So it's gonna be tough.

Like I said, it's a fail on Nomura's part for not thinking about BBS beforehand lol. There have been threads about this same question on who was talking to Sora.

I think it is Logical to say it was Ventus i mean think about it If mickey is some kind of super master keyblade wielder then it is impossible and Ventus's heart is inside Sora's heart so there you go

It's already been confirmed and proven with an interview that it was Mickey. Of course Nomura could always pull a George Lucas and say that it actually wasn't Mickey, but Ven, thus changing what's canon and what isn't.

Eh, though apparently it was said in an interview, I think it still should have been Ventus (I know, BBS wasn't thought of in great detail at that point, but still, it would definitely make more sense.)

I find it kinda hard to believe it was Mickey, it really does make more sence that it was Ventus's voice. Kinda wish I could see the interview myself...but oh well.
