He should have ended up in Lanes In Between because he was close to Aqua's area but he couldn't have received assistance from Vanitas since he was disposed of. Xehanort became Terranort after losing with no memories so he couldn't have assisted Braig either.

1. I think he really thought he could weild a keyblade, or he just wants to weild dark powers

 

2. Maybe he opended a portal with his newly aquired powers.

When he was fighting with Terra, Terra was the stronger one thats why he won, and it doesnt show how long the fight was with him and Aqua, for all we know it could have been a minute, so braig is strong but not as strong as terra or aqua. AND when the fight was over Braig was panting like crazy and it looked like aqua barely broke a sweat

There might be the well used want for power.

I think Braig also has a want for excitement and challenges not supplied by working for Ansem the Wise.

As for Braig working for someone else, I don't see any evidence of that, but it would add some interesting story options.

It was most likely the plan that after Braig distracted Aqua and Ven, he goes home to wait for MX to contact him.

He most likely had some sort of cover. Sick leave, since he had recently lost his eye. Bathroom break. Something like those.

I think the name "City of Light" was meant more as a testament to the way Radiant Garden was run and it's peaceful inhabitants. As for him going toe to toe with Terra then later Aqua, he is an apprentice of Ansem the Wise. He wore a uniform, so was most likely tasked with guarding the Castle and all of Radiant Garden. While RG is a peaceful place, Braig and the others would most likely been trained well and supplied with good tech and magic. then add to that working for MX, and you get some good skills.

Working on your idea that Braig was working for someone else, he would most likely have been given the same and more advantages as working for Ansem the Wise.

I think that Braig had rabbited after his fight with Aqua. The new look he had with the yellow eyes seems to indicate that he had the power of darkness, thus most likely use a dark portal.

1. I would more so say it's something of his own agenda since he did seem to make some kind of deal with Master Xehanort. I'm looking forward to how that turns out.

 

2. My guess is with the powers of darkness. He did seem to have the amber colored eyes. And his abilities seemed to be closer to that of his nobody during his skirmish with Aqua.

 

3. Either a number of the other pay attention to his actions or he's a pretty good ninja(joking). I guess since he knows how things operate at the castle he could have timed or planned it to where he had more freedom, that or he's good at lying to others.

Whenever the reason it is for Braig to be doing these things must be pretty good, especially if he looses an eye over it. But maybe it will be revealed in a future game.

Braig was never working for someone else in secret. The only person Braig worked for besides Master Xehanort was Ansem the Wise. Other than that, he worked for nobody else besides AtW and MX. The only reason Braig worked for MX is because he wanted Xehanort to "keep his part of the bargain". Which was most likely wanting to have a keyblade.

Braig didn't even have the power of darkness back when he fiught Terra. He obtained it sometime later when he fiught Aqua in the Keyblade Graveyard. And it is said that if you use the power of darkness you'll become twice as strong as you normally were.

Braog fled a little befpre all that happened, and like I said, he was able to use the power of darkness by that time. So he must've used the corridor of darkness to get back to his own world. Plus might I add that Xehanort became "Terranort" when he merged with Terra's body and didn't loose his memories until he stabbed himself with his own keyblade in Radient Garden.

1- Braig was one of Ansem the Wise's guards and Xehanort managed to find him, possibly being drawn to his power. After that, they discussed Xehanort's true plans and Braig liked the idea of getting a lot of power.

2- He left before everything went really bad and the X-Blade was formed and the world was being destroyed. But it's a question of how he got their as well. It could have something to do with his space related powers or he could have been able to open up a corridor of darkness even then.

3- He was only gone for quite a short amount of time, and it seemed to me that he was the type to not be around his workplace much anyway. Nobody probably noticed. If you were talkin about his eye patch and scar, people probably did ask about it, but we didn't see it.

4- At the start, he doesn't have a huge control over the darkness, it's only after he meets MX, that he starts using it's powers. And people could probably use darkness without intereference anyway. Braig is pretty strong, and he's made stronger after he meets MX and begins to give his heart over to the darkness.

4. Braig probally is half as strong as Aqua, but not nearly as strong as Aqua, a Keyblade Master.

First of all, Braig wanted power; but especially a Keyblade. Xehanort could have told him that there are other ways of getting a Keyblade. He could simply take one from the Keyblade Graveyard, or Xehanort could conjure one up for him. As for him not seeming surprised to see Xehanort, we didn't actually SEE them meet for the first time. Also, they're both humans; even if they were from another world, you wouldn't exactly think it strange to see someone of your own race.

 

(1). If that is the case, whoever he is working for somehow knew that all of this was going to happen, and gave him all, or most of the details, which would explain why he wasn't fazed by any of these events. If he is working for another evil character, all that does is make the story a little more complicating. Interesting; but complicating. And if he is working for the side of good, that would mean that Braig/Xigbar is technically even more pure of heart than Sora. I mean, to make everyone believe that you are evil, and keep up the act for so long; and to give in to the darkness and give up your heart--when there is a chance that you will NEVER get it back--all to save the world?* That's just......wow. It gets you right here <3. BUT, my theory could be explained away by the fact that if Braig WAS pure of heart, why does he not have a Keyblade? It would be quite interesting if he was working for someone else; but I highly doubt that he was. (*Some Jedi have done this.)

 

(2). He could have used a Dark Corridor.

 

(3). He just lost an eye! For all anyone else knew, he was at home while all of that was going on. One would have to be an insensitive jerk to expect him to show up for work after that. These days, you could be hospitalized for a week if you lost an eye.

 

(4). The members of the Organization that have pointed ears and yellow/amber eyes are the ones that have given into the darkness the most. That's why Xigbar, Saix and Xemnas were the most difficult to defeat. At the Keyblade Graveyard, Braig had pointed ears and his remaining eye was yellow to signify that he had become stronger since your last encounter with him. And rikunobodyxiii is right about the "City of Light" thing. It's like New York being called "The Big Apple".

 

As for your last note, he was supposed to be a distraction, so I think that before the battle at the KG, Xehanort told Braig to buy him some time and then go wait for him back at Radiant Garden, and he used a Dark Corridor to get there. Also, when Ansem and the Royal Guard found "Terranort", and Braig smiled/sneered when he said that his name was Xehanort, was most likely because everything was going according to plan. Xehanort probably knew that there was a chance that something like that would happen.
