Yep it's real.

But it better be good.

Yeah, Korra was announced last year. Sucks Aang won't be in it.

I'm never going to watch it.

So is this a new TV series or a movie? Plz be a TV series, the last airbender is one of my all time favourite shows. If it is a movie then it better be loads better the the last airbender movie.

p.s. They should make a new series with Aang, or at least like a 2-hour long special that ties up all the loose ends (like Zuko's mother) and leads us into this.

it's a new TV series. and even if it was a film, you could be damn sure they wouldn't get shamalama-ding-dong back for it.

and i agree that a tie up of the loose ends would have been nice, but i doubt thats going to happen.

IMO, they've squeezed alot of life out of aang and his world, and it was really good, but it's gonna be good to have a change and see how this different cast works in a different world, following the same sort of theme (sort of like how the final fantasy games work)

Good, and I wouldn't have been happy if he was making a movie. I hope they follow the same sort of themes; Funny, serious at times, full of awesomeness.

Here's what we know about it:

Korra is the new avatar, at least 70 years after the end of A:TLA. There is an anti-bender society that seems to be situated in a somewhat modern-ish city known as Republic City. Korra is going to learn Airbending from Aang's son, Tenzin. There will also be a character named Meelo. There is also an unconfirmed line-animation that shows Korra fighting without bending, while using techniques already seen in A:TLA.

There is also another confirmed character, but I forget their name.

i refer you back to here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1695360/

and thanks for the info, seems interesting. i'd have been so pissed if they decided to make the fire nation evil again -.-

Yes it's true. Although the title changed from Avatar:The Legend of Korra to The Last Airbender:Legend of Korra due to copyright issues with James Cameron.

really? thats stupid.

Nick had the title Avatar first, but i guess they only copyrighted the full title ''Avatar: The Legend Of Aang'', and then later changed it to the last airbender, for some unknown reason.

but that copyright issue there just makes the title irrelevant and stupid, as Korra is from the southern water tribe (meaning, she isn't an airbender, therefore she isn't the last airbender either)

What?! That doesn't even make sense! Avatar the Last Airbender was around way before the Avatar with the blue alien thingies. Besides, this show will have at least two airbenders: Tenzin and Korra!

Technically it took around 12 years for James Cameron to make Avatar. I believe he had the claim when he started the project, and there lies the problem. I'm not sure when Nickelodeon started to produce Avatar:The Last Airbender, but I'm pretty sure they didn't start 12 years ago.

Not necessarily. It's been rumored that he and the other members of the Gaang might be shown in flashbacks. Not only that, but Korra should be able to talk to Aang the same way Aang was able to talk to Roku.

Again, possible flashbacks might explain what happened with those "loose ends."

Maybe I should have been specific, I meant as in since he's dead, and yes, he would be guiding Korra since he was the Avatar before her.

Aang's son? So he married Katara? O_o

@Topic: The story looks nice I hope they retain the sense of seriousness like when being undercover in earth and fire nation, I love those parts, so somehow serious but somehow still carefree. I agree with Sora's Mom

lol, you didn't see it coming?

lol, you didn't see it coming?

I saw it, but I didn't think the creator was serious, Katara was like 3 years older than Aang or so.

I'm actually Katara-Zuko pairing, but it isn't like it matters too much

of course the creator was serious. the fortune teller told her that she would marry a powerful bender, she snogged aang to close off the final series, how could it be less clear?

Last I checked, Aang was 112 or maybe 113 at the end of the show.

I heard about it a long time ago. I figured it had fallen off the face of the Earth though...

Anyway, I really loved Avatar: The Last Airbender, so naturally I can't wait for this. The story seems interesting, and I am interested to see Aang's son.

The one thing that will disappoint me about this series though, is the lack of Iroh. I know it would make NO sense at all, but he was a great character.

I completely forgot that xD
