ok, I'm a horse person. Ive been riding since i was 9 and as i enter my 3rd year of high school, i am begining to think about what i want to be, and where i want to live (i live in ohio right now and i know i want to leave the state.) i know i want to work with horses. and no lectures about how i shouldnt please. people keep telling me this. just know i have a plan, and every horse person ive talked to says it could work. but thats not the point. what states are the best if you want to work with horses? i mean we all know kentucky and texas, but what others. while id like to not have to move cross country, i am willing to. i have always wanted to live in colorado, but its not exactly horsey. it is in someways, but not a lot.

things yoy should know...

im interested in horse training and ranches. so no horse racing.

i will take ANYTHING you have. any info is welcome. i have looked and looked and LOOKED for 2 and a half hours on google and i cant find any thing on this. so anything you find is welcome.

thank you :)

Dont know if this'll help, but my cousin works in a ranch in Wyoming. He mostly deals with cattle but they may have horse ranches there too. It would be a place to look into.

hm, I live in nebraska, horses are common, most midwest states are into horses

yeah, i figured that west would hve more, but its still hard to believe were almost half dead on the east coast here. some people told me michigan, virginia, west virginia, and new york. yes, i said new york ( i really is one of the top horse states out there. though its starting to fade with so much land being bought up) but no one ever told me why these states.

Wyoming would probebly be better than colorado for horses and it is the cheapest state to buy a house in, Lol Here in colorado there isn't much with horses sure there are ranches and stuff but not much else

Heh, I live in Ohio too, and I am going to get out as soon as possible.

As for horses, Wyoming might be something to consider, as others have said. I don't really know much about horses, but I think there are a few states in the Mid-west that would be decent candidates.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Oh, and I think it is cool that you have a plan for your future. Don't let people get in the way of your dreams.

Well i loved in both Texas and Mexico. Right now im currently in Mexico and they have a bunch of Ranches here. My Great grandpa owned one. When he died he passed it onto my dad and ive seen many more with lots and lots of horses. And while i was in Texas i saw alot of Ranches. My uncle owns one with a crap loud of animals so yeahh. Your in the U.S? Recommend Texas more. (x
