ya ppl do it all the time

To the money making from youtube:

I'm not entirely sure, but from what I understood from the offer I got --> You have to be offered to host ads onto your page. There's no exact answer on the amount you make, because your earnings will depend on a number of factors. The two key factors are the type of ads and the pricing of ads appearing with your videos. However due to copyrights you can face some pretty high risks if you're making a profit on something you didn't have permission to post. Which is why I personally don't want to earn money from amving. Youtube offered me a long time ago since I have enough views passing through my account, but AMVing is just a hobby and nothing more. I see AMVing as a different form of fanart (as well as adverting for the media I use) but companies see it differently and my stuff is removed or blocked frequently. =\

Also you kind of have to be automatically popular on youtube which is hard for a lot of video editors. o-o

About the copyrights:

They're unavoidable. Unless you can dispute the claim an unblock/mute a video you need to try to re-upload it. Just because you buy a song off of iTunes doesn't mean it's rightfully yours to use. When you upload the video you're giving others a chance to download and extract a song from your video, which is probably why youtube has to keep copyrights in check. It's also not entirely youtube's fault, but instead you should look more at the companies that are making the claims for your accounts. They are the ones that are truly doing all this copyright nonsense. If you aren't willing to take the risk of having to upload on a separate account and just risk your videos being removed, muted, or blocked than I suggest you try a different uploading site. Sometimes the copyrights annoy me to pieces! I lost an account over a completely ridiculous one but until they realize MOST mean no harm over video editing and that it's another way people like to express themselves the media industries are still going to track down those that are using their content whether the person means any harm or not.

if it's a tl;dr for you: Copyrights are unavoidable and are part of the typical annoyance left there for any editor on youtube. The only thing possible is if you are somehow able to get permission from artists themselves which is difficult/nearly impossible to do.

Upload it to Vimeo.

just wait a little while and upload it again, thats what i did with one of my amvs that got blocked like i gave a a couple weeks, uploaded it and i was able to watch it on youtube (lol just dont forget the disclaimer xD)

It's a side effect of businesses realizing the internet is here to stay, and capitalizing on it.

Copyrights are really bad sometimes.. But yeah, I think you should do what Kaiso said.
