Weekly Shonen Jump, one of the longest-running manga publications in Japan gets the scoop on FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 this week (with Famitsu continuing coverage in their next issue), this time, giving us a few story details surrounding the RPG game.

The magazine stated that Lightning is in fact the only remaining relative of Serah. She’s gone off alone, now battling as a knight to protect a shrine of the Goddess Etro in the land of Valhalla. There are some images of her with Odin along with the info.

As for the mysterious new main character Noel, he is actually from the future. As the final surviving human being from his world, he returns to the past in hopes of turning that fate.

the future?... wow, classic BTTF.

Yeah, as soon as i read this, I was thinking of Silver when it said that Noel is from the future.

Noel = Silver the Hedgehog?

I'm not a crazy Final Fantasy fan but I do like it a lot. I just hope this game is as good as the first FF XIII. If not better.

How embarrassing. That's mine name. xD Hopefully they get it right, and say it the guy's way for him, which is "Noll."

So far, everybody I've seen ingame pronounces it 'Nowl'
