We all know the rivalry between both franchises.

I am not talking about JUST the games, I want to know your opinions on the animes, mangas, products, fanfics, ETC.

The pokemon and digimon anime are both very different, as you see

Digimon's story line is more darker, Kids being zapped into a world they never been to before with their parents worried sick; Only to be aided by digital creatures they somehow befriended by a popular toy/card/game franchise. There's DEATH in the Digimon anime also.

Their manga as no different, Although I have yet to read the xros wars manga.

The games are very mixed, from a time based hand-held game that is closely similar to final fantasy and pokemon; Choosing to switch out your team, healing, attacking, defending, strenghtning, ETC. Except you have multiple digimon ready to switch out, not just a limit of 6, MULTIPLE.

Then there is their marvel VS capcom platform games. Choosing a character, ready to fight and knock out your opponent. No comment on this ._.

Pokemon's anime story line consist of Ash Ketchum, who loves leeching the youth from his female partners. We follow him all around various regions as he tries to win the pokemon league, although he has failed 4 times, only reaching the finals 4, 9, etc.

No, the pokemon anime is not dark, no deaths, just forcing your pokemon to fight each other

sora'slittlehelper demands that you release your pokemons

The manga....Oh lord...Who else have seen my thread on random when Green's charmeleon murdered Koga's arbok? Slicing it in half, making that poor psyduck's flesh burn alive revealing it's skull and bones....Oh my...In the digimon manga, I don't remember seeing that much violence.

Kinda opposites don't you think?

The pokemon games are VERY POPULAR, With their current successor Black and White versions, they have sold millions of copies worldwide, even setting up an online bonus known as the pokemon dream world.

Has Digimon ever attempted selling over millions of copies? Not exactly.

Digimon actually have their own MMORPGS.

Pokemon does not, but they have many fanmade RPGs.

Now that you have read this or not... I want to know your opinions.

Eh?
Pokemon! I got into that more then Digimon. I tried to watch it but my parents and sister forbid me (yes forbid me) from watching it. I watch Pokemon behind there backs ;) (I regret nothing from that :D) and I think Pokemon is just better in my opinion.

Pokemon for the win!

Digimon is the shadow of Pokemon..

Like how Luigi is the shadow of Mario

Digimon hands down.

Pokemon and Digimon are almost complete opposites.

In Pokemon, the monsters are usually forced to fight with the humans, going through what I can only guess is a forced personality change, while in digimon, they fight together because they want to.

The Pokemon anime is extremely dull, repeating the story again and again and the fans want change in the series. While the digimon series is constantly changing and most of the fans want it to go back to what it was originally.

And the Pokemon games are what makes it popular and the Digimon anime is what makes it popular.

But since the games are becoming annoying and the creators are running out of ideas for their pokemon and Digimon is becoming stronger with one of their best series since Tamers and better than, maybe even Zero, I would say. So yeah. Digimon FTW!

I'm going with Pokémon, just because I'm more familiar with it. But from what I remember of the few Digimon episodes I watched, I thought that was cool, too. I'm really only familiar with the animes from each franchise, and nothing else. I chose the third option from the top. Either way, I think they're both okay, but I don't like them nearly as much as I used to.

This statement was true, Mostly, the fighting in pokemon is just a sport.

In Digimon, The fighting is against evil, they fight to defend others and their home.

Both, but I love Pokemon more. Zorua, you will be by my side!

I'm going have to say digimon loved it since I was a kid.

Pokemon is much muuuuuuuuuch better.(I love pokemon)

digimon cause that can talk and change whenever they want

Pokemon because it's still going. While you don't really know what's been going on with Digimon.

pokemon cause ive forgot everything about digimon cant even remember if i even liked it

Pokémon. To be honest, I don't think I ever watched the Digimon anime more than once, probably not even all the way through, a few years ago. Like 5-6 years, something like that. I am pretty sure I didn't like it, as I never watched it again. Never played a Digimon game.

Pokémon games (and some of the spin-offs) always entertain me, and I don't think I ever played a main Pokémon game I hated. Yeah, some of the newer designs suck, and the show is not anywhere near as good as it was (ever since they changed voice actors and stuff it went down hill), but that doesn't make the games any less enjoyable (at least not much, and destroying your least favorites whenever you battle them is always fun) and doesn't mean that they earlier seasons of the show are bad.

Wow, I kinda went way to into that... TL;DR I like Pokémon, never really noticed Digimon.

I like both of them, but since I play the pokémon games since 1999, I'll choose pokémon.

THIS POLL IS VERY DEMORALIZING TO A DIGIMON FAN LIKE ME!!!!!

Pokemon because it's still going. While you don't really know what's been going on with Digimon.

Go look up digimon xros wars >:I

Digimon of course... I love that in Digimon, they can easily switch between stages, not like Pokemon, where they only change once in a while and never go back to the original stage. That is the best I can say about Digimon, since it gives out a little humanity in the digimon(no being, monster or human, can maintain a state of ultimate strength for more than 10 years).

Besides Digimon have more variety, both in quantity, as their numbers escalate to WAY more than the current FULL Pokedex(with full I mean every Pokemon of every season of games and animes) and in ways of changing, going from normal Digivolution, through Armor Digivolution, Side-Digivolution, De-Digivolution, DigiXrosing, Warp Digivolving, etc etc.

Digimon games are not as good as recent Pokemon due to lack of HUGE fandom, but if the numbers were to increase, I bet all my life, lunch money, clothes, games and whatever that it would be even better than Pokemon. The system of Digimon games is even better than Pokemon. You can De-Digivolve your own digimons so they can reach higher levels or go into different Digivolutions, i.e. you can have 1 digimon that can go into 4 different digimon lineages and you can go back and forth with them choosing whichever you like.

Don't get me wrong; I love both of these franchises to death. However, mostly likely because it's less as popular, I would choose Digimon as my favorite. With Digimon, there's always something serious going down, whereas in Pokemon, it might happen on a couple of occasions, but mostly in the movies. The constant theme of catching animals and dominating a region? or a digital world with creatures and foes alike that threaten the real world?
