Topics with classification ratings

Posted

We should be able to post a thread and clearly state that thread's classification rating in it's title and have everyone follow it. For example "MA15+" in this case people under 15 years old age can not read or post in that thread.

Another option could be 'age locking' select threads. A problem with this is it could occur that people may lie about their age to get into these threads.

Discuss.

Not gonna start a fight. Not trying to start a fight.Just gonna say this in a calm way.

Kh rated E for everybody

All other Kingdom hearts E for everybody 10+

So why would the website FOR kingdom hearts be e for everyone 15 and +

I find it funny how you hate ppl who is under 13 and on this site.

You fail to understand the purpose of this. It would only affect threads that need to have a classification rating. It would allow people to discuss more 'serious' things that are not appropriate for people under a certain age. This could also include videos and pictures that are rated "M" or even "M15+".

Even if you were to discuss more serious things, there are still some mature people who are at least 12 or older. You have to understand that at least. I know that there may be some younger members, but still, there are more mature members who are at least 12 or older.

I do understand that. And 'exceptions' could be made for select people. Another possibility is an age restricted forum or forums.

The website is originally restricted to PG-13 content among the forum, but isn't restrictive towards age. So anyone under 13 can sign up if they wish so, but should be aware that there may be some mature content and discussions within it. It's more of a maturity issue more than anything but we try to be lenient even though we do find some of the more younger members to have a bit of a problem when it comes to being able to handle themselves well on the forums. But that doesn't mean we haven't had problems with more older members too.

Also the rating of Kingdom Hearts games =/= a websites rating. = ....

What Sora96 is trying to bring up in the thread is the ability for someone to age lock a thread to where people who are above a certain age will only be the ones to view it. It would sort of be the same purpose as say adding groups to the forums which would allow only people in a specific group and maybe perhaps staff would be allowed to view a thread because of the restriction that is placed on it. Having an MA15+ would mean that anyone signed up for a younger age couldn't enter and since we don't allow/discourage multiple accounts to be created there wouldn't be any way for them to view it until it's a certain age.

A pro to having that would be allowing older members to be able to have conversations without censoring the content due to the younger members that tend to lurk on here. Just because a younger member may consider themselves mature enough to see the content doesn't mean they would be allowed to view it just like how websites put age locks on videos if a member enters an age below an age restriction. The MA15+ threads would apparently allow members above the age to talk more freely about certain things?

But this would make the website more segregated based off of age and could perhaps cause the community to have more negative than positive vibes because of how easily separated conversations could be and that other members couldn't view content that their friends on the website could. Also yeah, members could sign up (if they don't have an account already) and lie about their age which already happens to begin with.

It just seems like a useless idea really. I would say just try to cope with the younger members even though some may tend to be annoying from time to time. Maybe perhaps if a thread has mature content there's a way identify it instead of like a spoiler and a few words within it that states that?

I think people should say what rating their post would have (e.g. M15+) and if little kids get offended by it, then too bad for them. If a kid watches a video that scares them and offends them, it is their own responsibility and cannot blame the user who started the thread. Of course people shouldn't be starting porn threads or anything.

I think this could be an interesting concept.

Eh, I don't care either way. But yeah, younger people who sign up in the future will probably lie about their ages anyway, so it would hardly make any difference.

Some very good points. And a good read Kaiso. But yes a way to 'identify' if it contains mature content is needed.

I don't see any reason for that , I prefer putting the ((thread's classification rating)) as an option near the name of the thread so people can know in which age this thread is , and that would be a nice idea but not closing the threads to the people under the thread age , what I really mean is we should put it but as optional not by forcing .

I agree with what Kaiso said... and also, there's no point to all of this when you can just say at the start of the thread, "this contains ___ so you shouldn't read on if ___ offends you"

What about images and videos that are rated M or MA15+?

It depends on the individual image. Either a warning would be okay, or maybe to keep them off the site. But yeah, it depends on the exact image.

I feel that MA-15 sticker would only say to people that are under age HAY THIS THREAD IS VARY MATURE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE THIS and it would be encouraging people to post much more mature content in the forums that would should be allowed (if you would not put it in E rated game dont post about it) all thou the are number of members on the site that can take a mature conversation it could also go downward vary fast and cause alot of problems for many people.
