seeing the new high quality scan of sora and riku fighting the dream eaters i noticed a lot of flashy attacks that practically enveloped the entire screen .. scenery and all, recalling some of the high flying railing and ceiling dashes the same thing kind of happened where sora becomes a flare and swoops across a good part of the map. now idk about most of you but i tend to like to enjoy some of the scenery, now i know i can pretty much stand there and look around but the pace of the other games made you take some time to go from point A to point B, enjoying the backgrounds the game had to offer while listening to a heart warming soundtrack.

now it's hard to say now seeing as to how the game hasn't even been released yet, but is anyone else scared the new bold action may consume some of the beauty of this game BGM and all?

Yeah u got a point there , I am kind of scared of how the soundtracks gonna be with the 3DS (I mean is it going to be like Days or BBS ? )

I get your point... but I am not only concerned of the setting but more about the battle system. I think it is just getting too much. Compare it to the battle system of KH I... it was way more tactical ...now you spin around a lantern and kill 10 enemies.

that's a good point, basic skills seem to also be getting more over powered but they were only on demos so it was hopefully an earlier level.

I'm not as concerned really. The person who played the Riku demo died a lot and they weren't playing too bad, so I don't think the attacks are overpowered. Also, I don't think it'll take away from the background. In the ss it's just a still picture, but from the animations it only lasts a moment during the attack. The command styles were also very flashy. What I look forward to is that we'll be climbing on the buildings more and get different views we haven't had before.

the sound quality is supposed to be something like BBS since the 3DS is supposed to be more advanced than the PSP

Honestly, I don't see the problem. I just love all these flashy attacks where you defy the laws of physics. Besides, all the people who played the demos didn't have much to complain about, so I'm not worried.

If you like it, like it.

Other people were happy with a relatively slower and more tactical battle system.

And honestly when I saw the gameplay trailers it was a little shocking because the battle system had no resemblance at all with KH I.

I like over the top stuff but they developers from SE shouldn't focus to make the fights as actionloaded and flashy as possible.

Because it looks to me like they don't try to make the fights challenging but to look cool.

They could put as much eye candy in the game as they want as long as I get rewarded for observing the attack pattern of the enemy, dodge, reflect and attack when the enemy opens a weakness in his defense and just use my brain.

Honestly, I felt the battle systems of KH1 and Days a bit annoying (but they both still beat CoM's card system). As long as they keep the BBS deck command and this flashy action, I'm a happy gamer!

i never got to try BBS's deck command battle system so it's hard for me to say for that subject. i was just hoping they weren't trying to impress a younger generation with flashy, more over-the-top effects like sorawillprevail was saying. id like them to keep it a bit more complex like kh1 where strategy was more of a key element.

deck commands are sooooooooooooo much better than KH1's overrated battle system (the whole strategy method doesn't appeal to me). Read reviews of BBS on IGN and 1UP. The battle system in that game is the best. Why else do you think Nomura implemented the battle system in Re:Coded and in DDD. It works! And I really do hope KH3 sticks to it.

I have neither a PSP nor a 3/DS so I just played Re:coded on an emulator (SORRY DON'T JUDGE ME!!!) and I liked the deck command system but I enjoyed the system of KH1 and 2 too were you can cast all the magic you want and use skills passively or by pressing sqaure and x at the right moment. Both of them would work for me in KH III tho'.

I watched the walkthough of BBS though and I must say i liekd the pacing of KH 1-2 better.

I just watched them using skills, missing often, doing low dmg and then running away from the enemy while reloading the skills.

Re:Coded doesn't do BBS's battle system any justice. Sure the decks were there, but it was a bit rushed (remember, they barely worked a year on the game). And you can't judge BBS's battle system until you play it yourself. To be honest, BBS's battle system had me worried when seeing all the demos and early walkthroughs. But once I played it myself, I saw how it was the superior battle system. And the guys working on DDD are actually putting time and effort to it like in BBS, not rushing through it like in Re:Coded.

As much as I agree and think how funny your comment is, at least the reaction commands show Sora is using his outside resources to defeat enemies, instead of relying solely on his keyblade. Some of them are a bit extreme, like flinging Goofy around like a Rocket. And as helpful and awesome Rising Sun is in KHII, it made the 10,000 (Or was it just 1,000? --either way, it was a ton of Heartless) Heartless battle too easy.

I think they need to find more of a balance between the KH1 and the other styles.

I personally do like the BBS style, and I do see what you mean by people just running around, dodging attacks until their slots are finished reloading and then rape the triangle button, but it works at the same time.

  • im EXCITED about this game. Im sure soundtracks are pretty epic and so is plot, bosses and enemies!! this is going to be one of most exciting kh games to wait for :D
