Ok, so I've been watching the cutscenes and all because, I haven't played this one yet. Sorry, to say... but I'm confused just a little bit. Only with the Vanitas, and Ventus part.

Ventus is now apart of Sora, right? That makes Vanitas apart of Sora too, because of the Ventus is Vanitas other half, right? Uhh, please someone explain this? :/

Ventus' heart is in Sora bc it became damaged and found refuge in Soras heart in order to mend..Vanitas is Vens dark half,,separated from his light half..MX wanted to create a X-keyblade using vanitas and ven ..They ended up fighting with Ven defeating Vanitas in order to prevent this but also severing and severely damaging his heart..So it sought refuge in Sora where it still is while Vens body is hid away in castle oblivion where Aqua hid him

tutti frutti. Master Xehanort wanted to create the X-Blade as part of his plan. When forced to adjust his plan he took out the darkness in Ven, thus creating Vanitas in the process. This process damaged Ven's heart to where his heart went inside of Sora's heart in order to recover. The recovery process caused Vanitas to look like Sora's doppleganger, because Ven's heart was inside of Sora's heart. In the final battle between Ven and Vanitas started the X-blade came to be, but was destroyed after the battle. Hope this helps.

Ah, but in the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop trailer, Vanitas appears again... soo yeah.

While that's true, it's important to remember that DDD takes place in the world of sleep/dreams, where there's a few things that wouldn't make sense in the "normal" world (characters not remembering Sora, characters that currently shouldn't be alive being...alive :P ). My view is that Vanitas isn't part of Ventus' heart anymore, he was separated from him when Xehanort took the darkness out and Vanitas wasn't able to merge back with Ventus, otherwise the X-Blade would have been fully completed, rather than partially at the end.

Oh, ok. That makes sense. Thanks. (:

Another question... does anyone know why Vanitas looks like Sora, I mean there has to be reason behind that.

Apparently Tetsuya Nomura has said that he looks like Sora because Sora's heart connected with Ventus near the beginning of the game, and if someone else had connected with Ventus, Vanitas would look like that person. It also said before that he looked a bit like a humanoid heartless, but I can't find the original source. As for why he didn't just take Ventus' appearence, I guess they couldn't share faces? :P Not too sure, but that's my guess :)

Ah, nice. (: You guys are good at this.

That was stated in the novel, iirc.

Heh, technially, Ventus should have disappeared, but his heart found refuge within Sora. Who's to say that Vanitas didn't do the same...? lol but it could happen.
