For anyone who's been dying for the next big bit of Pokemon news - it's time to get excited. Earlier today Pokemon producer Junichi Masuda took to the GameFreak blog with the tantalizing promise that he would be making a "very important announcement" on the Japanese show Pokemon Smash.
Here's exactly what he had to say:
"On this coming Sunday, Februrary 26, 2012, from 7:30 A.M,
I, Masuda, will be appearing on TV TOKYO's Show, "Pokemon Smash!" Not only that. And there… I will be making a VERY important announcement,so be sure not to miss it!! Watch it live on TV!
And, for those of you who can't watch television on live, I will announce the same information right after the show via twitter!! Everyone, I hope you all enjoy the show!! Ciao!
For those of us Stateside, that translates to 2:30pm PST this Saturday, so keep an on IGN tomorrow for all the breaking news.
While we won't know for sure what Masuda will announce until tomorrow, it wouldn't be a stretch to expect the third installment in the Black and White set of games (Pokemon Gray?), or even perhaps news on the next generation of Pokemon titles. After all, the first glimpse we had of Pokemon Black and White was a silhouette of Zoroark on the Japanese show Pokemon Sunday. Still, with all the Pokemon spinoffs in existence, anything is possible.
PS. There's a similar thread like this one, yet, this one deals with the specific announcement that will be made this sunday (February 26) or saturday in some countries, rather than some speculation.
Nevertheless, if any of the mods believes this thread ought to be closed, I won't get mad.
Because a new Pokémon game might be announced.
