When I was going to buy my Axel figure, I showed the pic to my mom and she was like "is that a women?" Then a few minutes ago I showed my dad the Axel figure in person and he was like "and this is a guy....I guess?"

 

I mean, I know he has girly hips, but really.....

 

Oh, and dad, thanks for pointing out Roxas has big feet, I totally didn't know that. YOU NOTICE HIS FREAKIN FEET BUT NOT THE HUGE KEY IN HIS HAND. Perfect logic! Then you notice Axel has slightly smaller feet and that he looks like a woman, but not the spiky things in his hands. Nice.

He's the flurry of dancing flames, which makes him sound a little femine albeit but he doesn't look particularly girly. His hair isn't girly and if you're comparing his feet to Roxas'. Roxas doesn't have big feet, just big shoes. Same as Sora and Mickey. And seriously, just compare him to Marluxia, anyone looks more manly when compared to Marluxia.

I should totally show my dad Marluxia and then tell him "THAT'S A MAN"

I can kinda see them thinking Axel's a girl unless they look at his face... but then there's no way he's a girl!

They've only seen the action figure, and his face is a bit feminine compared to his actual face.

i agree with you on this one, though Axel does look more manly than most of the organization member i've seen in the game. but i had a similar problem, when i first played KH2, when i started fighting Axel, my parents asked why i was fighting a girl, and the same as you, i though, sheesh, i'd pay more attention to the CHAKRAM'S HE'S HOLDING!, i yelled the last part because i was almost hit with one of his attacks.

I don't think Axel looks like a girl, but I suppose it is in the eye of the beholder. For example, I had left images of Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth on the computer to print.Then my grandpa comes in and asks"Who are those girls?" Total epic fail!

I've been confused on a gender from a character as well not just in Kingdom Hearts ('cause I'm still very sure Marluxia is a girl with a man's voice!). Like my most common one Chrona from Soul Eater, no one will ever know his/her gender... Maybe it was never meant to be learned O_O

I think Marluxia is like one of those male tortoiseshell cats; all of them are suppose to be female, but a rare genetic disorder causes them to be male....and sterile.

My friend thought Marluxia was a girl, I don't blame her.
