I didn't know if this should go into Real World news (which is more serious) or Random (which is silly) so I posted it here. Anyways, on Topic, How exactly does the existence of Aliens disprove God? I couldn't find anything in the bible that says Aliens can't exist, either that, or I missed something. This was not meant to be a silly topic, but more serious. Although it might/might not have anything to deal with the real world, it is still a question. ( I think I messed up on my grammar somewhere in there) Anyways, Do any of you know how Aliens could disprove God? I can't seem to see how it would.

I never said they did. I said how would they disprove God in anyway. Something in me says that they do, but I can't be entirely sure.

They wouldn't disprove God, because they don't exist. At least not the "aliens" most people think exist. The ones in the spaceship and shit. No.

Well, I don't think they would necessarily disprove God's existence, but I know that it would cause me a lot of confusion as a Christian. For me, it's a matter of Jesus' sacrifice on earth. He gave up his life for everyone here, because we all need salvation. But what if there is life on other planets--other people who need salvation just as much as we do? Then did Jesus' sacrifice on this planet count for everyone on all the other planets as well? Or not? IDK, it's just...difficult to contemplate. Not that I'm not open to the idea--I believe that God's abilities are completely unlimited, and if life on other planets does exist, there may be a good reason it's not mentioned in the Bible. But based on what I believe, it's hard for me to see how it would work.

Odds are that the aliens are our gods. Simple as that.

On a forum like this? A question of this nature is already subject to varying beliefs and disbliefs that people have. For example, I myself am agnostic.

 

It really does depend on the form of alien you'd be speaking of. A humoniod life form such as ourselves, something far more advanced, something a little more terrifying, somethings that fits into the subjection of "god" as it were-- or bacteria on Mars. The question is too round about to be specific with an answer, though in the end, I doubt such a thing as aliens would ever affect the ideals of religion to a great extent. Faith is too deeply rooted for such a concern not to conform to some for of religious belief or another.

aliens do not exist and i can prove this very simply. As humans we were given the right to obey God or disobey God, we call this freewill. We were created in the image of God so if you think of an alien thats green and has bulging eyes, that looks nothing like us, therefore nothing like God. The 2nd point i have is Jesus Christ came down to This earth as 100% man and 100% God to sacrifice himself for us. He loved us so much that he died for us. If there are aliens out there then Jesus would have to die for them as well, and if he did i think he would have told us in the bible. Jesus only had to die once for us to be saved because he loved you.

Humans were created in God's image and are God's children. Therefore any miracles performed by Jesus or God do not apply to any aliens out there. Techincally Aliens are inferior, at least spiritually.

 

And denying the existence of Sentient Aliens is rather rediculous. Most of the galaxy is unexplored even through telescopes and transmissions of various signals. Plus, us Humans have only been around for several hundred thousand years. In 100 years we managed from using manpower to robots. There is already confirmation that several planets with biospheres similar to earth, or at the very least a point in earth history (an early earth atmosphere of CO2 for example).

 

With this in mind there is a great chance that there is a senient alien species could develope somewhere in the galaxy, infact most scientist say that it's less likely that another sentient race didn't develope. If they have been around longer than us imagine what they have accomplished. We've done so much in 100 years so to think what another civilization could do in 1000 is just unfathomable.

 

So yeah here are some basic points.

It's strange. You're judging an entire species you have never met for not following one specific religion.

If you actually read what I said it's not because they don't follow a religion, it's that the religion doesn't apply to them.

In the end, it all comes down to science vs. religion.
